Spreading Thanks through Giving: NHS and NJHS Thanksgiving Food Drive
As the holiday season approaches, it's a time for us to come together and express gratitude for the blessings in our lives. One beautiful tradition that embodies this spirit is the Thanksgiving Food Drive organized by the National Honor Society (NHS) and the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at our school. This initiative not only helps those in need within our community but also teaches our students the importance of giving back.
Dates and Details:
The NHS and NJHS Thanksgiving Food Drive is in full swing, running from now until November 15. During this period, we are encouraging students and their families to contribute to this meaningful cause by bringing in specific food items listed on the attached flyer. These items include instant potatoes, green beans, gravy packets, sweet potatoes, and more. Donations can be handed over to your child's homeroom teacher.
Donation Requests by Grade:
To make the process as organized and effective as possible, we've outlined the requested donations by grade:
- Kindergarten - 1st Grade: Instant potatoes, boxed stuffing, or 2 lbs bags of rice
- 2nd - 3rd Grade: Canned Corn, green beans, black beans, or sweet potatoes
- 4th - 5th Grade: Cranberry Sauce and/or gravy packets
- 6th - 8th Grade: Instant potatoes, boxed stuffing, or 2 lbs bags of rice
- 9th - 12th Grade: Canned Corn, green beans, black beans, or sweet potatoes
